A handmade wooden fountain pen turned from the burl of a flame box elder tree. This incredible wood came from Utah, where a box elder succumbed to the flame coloration process and a colleague was lucky enough to get his hands on the wood. It was lucky for him and lucky for us, as we now have material for a limited run of these striking pens.
Flame box elder is known for vibrant red streaks that decorate the pale wood of the elder. The burl is highlighted by swirls of copper and gold, along with dark spalting lines. The unique patterns of this rare wood make each pen truly one of a kind.
The pen includes a high quality, medium nib with a standard ink convertor and ink cartridge.
